1. What is a mobile notary?
A mobile notary is a commissioned notary public who travels to your location to perform notarial services. M&M’s Notary comes to your home, office, hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, or another convenient location.
2. What areas does M&M’s Notary serve?
M&M’s Notary provides mobile notary services throughout the Oklahoma City metro area, including Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, Del City, and Midwest City. Longer-distance appointments may also be available.
3. What do I need to bring to a notarization?
You should have the completed document, acceptable identification, and any witnesses required by the document. If you are unsure what is required, contact us before your appointment.
4. What identification do I need for notarization?
A notary must be able to reasonably establish your identity using satisfactory evidence, such as acceptable identification or, when permitted, a qualifying credible witness. Oklahoma law requires the notary to establish the identity of the person signing.
5. Do I need to sign my document before the notary arrives?
Not necessarily. If the document requires a signature to be witnessed by the notary, wait until the notary provides instructions. For an acknowledgment, a signature may already have been made, but the signer must personally acknowledge it before the notary.
6. Can you notarize a Power of Attorney?
Yes. M&M’s Notary provides mobile notarization for eligible Power of Attorney documents, including Healthcare Power of Attorney and financial or property-related Power of Attorney documents.
7. Do you notarize Healthcare Power of Attorney documents?
Yes. We provide mobile notarization for Healthcare Powers of Attorney and other medical-related documents. If your document requires witnesses in addition to a notary, those requirements must also be satisfied.
8. Do you notarize Oklahoma Statutory Power of Attorney documents?
Yes. M&M’s Notary can notarize an Oklahoma Statutory Power of Attorney when the document is properly prepared and ready for execution.
9. Do I need witnesses for a Power of Attorney?
Witness requirements depend on the specific Power of Attorney document and applicable Oklahoma law. Some healthcare and other legal documents may require witnesses in addition to notarization. Review the instructions on your document before your appointment.
10. Can an aunt or cousin be a witness for a Power of Attorney?
An aunt or cousin may be permitted to serve as a witness depending on the specific Power of Attorney and its witness requirements. Do not assume that every family member is automatically qualified or disqualified. The document's instructions and applicable Oklahoma law should be followed.
11. Do you provide hospital and nursing home notary services?
Yes. M&M’s Notary provides mobile notary services at hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other care facilities throughout our service area.
12. Can you notarize a document for someone in a hospital or nursing home?
Yes, provided the signer meets the requirements for notarization, including being able to communicate with the notary, understand the signing as required, and voluntarily execute the document. Facility policies may also apply.
13. Can a notary explain my legal documents?
A notary can explain the notarization process, but cannot provide legal advice, interpret your legal rights, or tell you what document you should sign. If you have legal questions about a Power of Attorney, estate document, or other legal instrument, consult an attorney.
14. Can you prepare my Power of Attorney or other legal document?
No. M&M’s Notary is a notary service and does not draft legal documents or provide legal advice. Your document should be prepared by you, an attorney, or another qualified source before the notarization appointment. Oklahoma law limits a non-attorney notary's role in providing legal advice.
15. How much does a mobile notary cost?
The total price depends on the type and number of notarizations, number of signers, location, travel distance, and appointment circumstances. Contact M&M’s Notary for a total quote before scheduling.
16. Do you offer same-day mobile notary service?
Same-day appointments may be available depending on our schedule, location, and appointment requirements. Call or text M&M’s Notary to check availability.
17. Can you notarize vehicle titles and bills of sale?
Yes. M&M’s Notary provides mobile notarization for eligible vehicle titles, bills of sale, and other documents that require notarization.
18. Do you offer Remote Online Notarization (RON)?
Remote Online Notarization may be available for eligible documents and signers. Oklahoma law provides specific identity-verification requirements for remote online notarization, including government identification, credential analysis and identity proofing, or a qualifying credible witness.
19. Can a notary notarize any document?
No. The notary must be able to perform a lawful notarial act and properly establish the signer's identity. A notary may refuse a notarization when the legal requirements for the notarial act have not been satisfied. Oklahoma law requires the notary to make a good-faith determination of the signer's identity.
20. How do I schedule M&M’s Notary?
